The Brief
As a busy tourist destination, preserving the safety of visitors and staff is of the utmost concern to the Visitor Centre. SMT was tasked with providing rigorous consultancy services, to ensure the Centre was operating safely and fully compliant with all guidelines.
Our goals were to:
- Provide safety advisor services of range of matters.
- Provide new safety statement.
- Conduct risk assessments for all sites.
- Provide ergonomic, DSE & Workplace assessments.
The Solution
After in-depth consultation with management and staff and multiple on-site visits, SMT’s consultants delivered the following services:
- Created new safety statement.
- Create, implement & reviewed the risk assessment programme.
- Created corrective action plans based of risk assessments.
- Provided workplace assessment, as and when required.
- Implemented DSE Assessment programme.
- Provided ergonomic services and conduct assessments.
- Provide safety advisor services.
The Outcome
Safety statements were successfully implemented to delegate responsibility and give greater awareness of roles and responsibility. Safety risks were identified, rated and mitigated, which contributed to providing an overall safer environment for staff and visitors.
As a result of our work, the Visitor Centre now has:
- Improved health and safety performance.
- Increased regulatory compliance.
- Improved staff safety awareness.
