IOSH Safety Health & Environmental Construction Site Managers (Face to Face)
Course Description
Worldwide, 60,000 workers die on construction sites every year. The annual financial cost for businesses of accidents, illness and deaths is over €2 trillion. The good news is that up to 70 per cent of accidents can be prevented by good standards of management.
Course Delivery Method: Face to Face
For essential services, or where authorised, On Site training can be conducted depending on which current level of the National Framework for Living with Covid-19 is in place and once the minimum infection controls below can be observed:
- A minimum of 2 metres between each trainee
- A well aired room with windows that can be open
- Hand sanitiser or/and gloves made available to all trainees
- All hard surfaces cleaned before and after the training course
- No other personnel allowed in the room until the course has finished
- No entry of personnel showing any symptoms of COVID-19
- Pre-screening Covid-19 questionnaire completed and approved before course commencement
- All Government, HSE, WHO & CIF guidelines can be adhered to

- Module 1 – Local law and enforcement.
- Module 2 – Preparing for work.
- Module 3 – General management of the site, workers and contractors including for example the importance & use of method statements and permits to work.
- Module 4 – Importance of managing environmental aspects and impacts related to construction projects.
- Module 5 – Principles underpinning effective construction design and management.
- Module 6 – The key issues and control of working at height.
- Module 7 – Site requirements for the welfare of construction workers on site.
- Assessment – Multiple choice assesssment.
- Project – Risk assesssment project.
On successful completion of the MCQ & Project participants will be awarded an IOSH Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Site Managers Certificate.
