Retained Service Plans
S.M.T have over the past 25 years developed and delivered our retained advisor service to a wide range of clients in all industries. S.M.T can provide you with a retained OH&S service exclusive to your organisation. This is a cost effective, flexible option and on which you decide the level of service or support required. Included in this service is either safety officer or senior safety advisor support, to advise on any aspect of your organisation safety needs. You can also include any awareness training required or certified training to suit your organisation. You can also utilise the support of our administration and IT services.

Remote/Home Risk & Ergonomic Assessments
Employers have specific duties to ensure the safety, health and welfare at work of all employees while at the office or at the home office. Under the Health and Safety Act and the Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Regulation 2007 the employer has a number of duties to comply within this regulation, the key requirements are to provide a risk assessment and DSE (ergonomic) assessment, provide information & training, provide eyesight testing and eyewear where require.
What to expect with a Virtual Assessment?
- We will contact the employee via video call, we will share our self-assessment webform with the user and our DSE assessor will explain how to complete the self-assessment.
- Following submission of the self-assessment our assessor will review the self-assessment and follow up with a consultation with recommendations on improvements.
- Each assessment will be accompanied by an individual DSE assessment report.
- Assessments take place virtual via Microsoft Teams, Zoom or your preference.
- A full report for each assessment with findings and recommendations will be issued to the employer for implementation. Our report will include any risks assosicated with the remote/home working, equipment and furniture required, communication channels required and emergency protocols.
What to expect with a in Person Assessment?
- Employer must get consent for assessor to come to the employee remote/home office.
- Our assessors will be ahereing to all Government Covid-19 Protocols and Guideline.
- Our assessors will assess the environment and may make recommendation on improvements.
- A full report for each assessment with findings and recommendations will be issued to the employer for implementation. Our report will include any risks assosicated with the remote/home working, equipment and furniture required, communication channels required and emergency protocols.

The Documentation can be provided via hard or soft copy but our preference is to use our document management system SharePoint as it makes collaboration, sharing and version control super easy.
